Location: New York

Next Class Date: TBD

Taught By: Patrick Hayes

In private equity, talent is everything. The difference between a good investment and a great one often comes down to leadership. Yet, assessing talent—whether in interviews, management meetings, or chance interactions—is a skill that too often relies on instinct rather than method.

This training arms operating partners with a proven, practical framework to make sharper, faster, and more reliable people decisions. You'll learn how to create clear role scorecards, run disciplined conversations that maximize “data per minute,” and interpret what you learn with rigor—avoiding common traps like groupthink and gut-feel bias.

You Will Leave with a Solid Foundation of Skills Including:

  • Crafting outcome-based scorecards: You will leave with skills to clearly define the scorecard that all interviewees should use to assess talent

  • Road-map the interview: You will learn how to structure and set up the interview to capture the information you need

  • Drive conversations that matter you will learn how to steer the discussion and surface real evidence of a leader’s capabilities.

  • Make better calls, faster by tying your data back to role requirements and identifying patterns that predict success—or failure. You will learn how to maximize “date per minute”.
